I'm preparing my cat to go out on the road in a semi truck with me and I wanted an alternate method of carrying him in and out of the truck besides his regular carrier. This pack is purrfect! My boy is a chonky 16 lbs of love and he fits in it well. There is a removable pad at the bottom that can be cleaned, and a short tether to hook to their harness (please don't hook it to a collar!). The bubble window can be removed and replaced with a ventilated grate. It's a bit tricky the first time but then it's easy and the cat can't remove it themselves. Each side has ventilated mesh at the bottom and also unzips fully allowing easy access. The top panel with the bubble window also unzips. Besides the ventilated mesh there are also multiple grommeted holes to allow even more circulation, and the bubble window has the company name cut out in small letters which permits additional air flow. The shoulder straps are comfortable and there is a chest strap as well that latches horizontally to connect the shoulder straps. I'm very satisfied with the purchase. And it brings smiles to strangers faces when they see my cat staring out at them through the bubble window.

SIZEI looked everywhere for reviews for people that have dachshunds, because their bodies are very long, even though they stand short. This carrier holds my almost 13 lb miniature dachshund. She can almost be completely stretched out inside, but definitely has plenty of room to move around. Most of the time she likes to curl up anyways. You can see from the photos that she is quite comfortable inside. When the bag is sitting upright (as it would be when you were walking around wearing it as a backpack), she does lean into the side mesh. But when the bag is laid on its back/ back down (this is probably the position you would put it in under an airplane seat), she is able to be completely stretched out and stand up completely.***EDIT I don't think this bag is within the measurements for in-cabin flight. I have since researched and for more airplanes (it depends on the aircraft) you need a bag that is smaller than 18.5x8.5x13.5 inches..... Confirm with your airline first!***In comparing it to the other (light colored) bag, this one is a little bit smaller, but doesn't make much of a difference in the base of the backpack. My dachshund fit quite comfortably in both. If you have a dog that is going to be sitting up right in the backpack, you might want the light tan canvas bag because it is taller. I can't imagine the other** bag working as a carry-on...CLEANINGThis bag is a leather like material that would be completely wipe off a bowl, and stain proof. Obviously, you can remove the inner padding. I would say that this would be leak proof per airport "standards." I like that the leather like material does not let the dog hair stick to it, so it looks very clean, and elegant.Comparing it to the light tan canvas bag, which is made of canvas, the brown leather is much more cleanable. The light handbag is canvas, and the dog hair sticks to it, and it would be more likely to stain. PERHAPS the light canvas material would be more durable than the leather? I'm assuming that the Leather-like material might be more likely to get scratched or snagged. Time will tell!LOOKThe material is high quality, and looks great. One thing I was looking for was a bag that wasn't super obvious to being a pet carrier; as you can see from some of the pictures, from the back it is not obvious that you have a dog in this bag (as long as you have the plastic mesh instead of the plastic see-thru bubble). From the side it is not obvious that you have a dog in this bag, unless there is light behind you and they can see the silhouette of the dog.When comparing the look to the light tan canvas bag from another posting, I think that I like the overall structure of the light tan canvas bag better. But I like the dark brown leather look better on this (slightly) smaller bag.COMFORTI would say this would be completely comfortable for my Doxie to be in for several hours. She has plenty of space to move around and it is well-vented. For the person wearing it, it is not the most comfortable backpack I've had. It's not a bad backpack, but it has some form of a frame that keeps it in shape. It seems like the bottom back rubs into the small of my back a little bit. But overall the straps are padded, and fit nicely over my shoulders.The light tan canvas bag in comparison, felt like it didn't dig into my back as much. It has a longer length to it, and maybe it's that better on my hips. I'm not sure.STRUCTUREThis bag has a sturdy structure, good shoulder straps, zippers work nicely. I like that these zippers go around the lateral sides of the bag (long story short, I found a different bag - pictured as light tan - that's entire base is supported only by the zipper. I feel like that's not really durable, and the second your zipper breaks, you can no longer transport your pet with that other*** bag).

My partner and I had been searching for a cat backpack/carrier like this for a while, and we’re very happy we chose this one!Our kitty Jinora is about 6 months old, and roughly 6-7 pounds, and it is very nice and spacious for her (with room for her to grow). The air flow was important to us, and I love that the mesh panels on the sides are pretty large, AND the flap around the bubble opens up! The little buckle inside seems secure and it’s really nice to be able to attach it to her harness so we can safely open up the little door around the bubble for her to get some fresh air — also love that the strap is adjustable to make it loose enough for them to lay down, but also tighten it back up if you open the bubble up and they peer out. The bubble and mesh fixtures are easy to change out, while still remaining secure to the backpack, and the bottom of the backpack is nice and sturdy (it does not cave in from weight like many flimsy pet carriers)! It’s comfy to wear, and our kitty loves it so much she even takes naps in it throughout the day. 🥰

FINALLY figured out the trick with the ring/dome swap. SOOO HAPPY.You have to go clockwise for a second & then counter clockwise.Once dome on - can't imagine this would be a frequent action.Don't give up & don't let this be a barrier to purchase bc you will be pleased you bought it. It is great.I returned my 1st one bc I thought it was defective. (above challenge with dome swap)They replaced it very quickly but with different color - gray to green. I am fine with this color as it is a dark forest green. If they sent blue or a less subtle color, I would not be happy. Still prefer gray but this works.PROs -CAT FIT thumbs up. My cat Max is a tall cat and about 14 lbs. He can sit comfortably and bc of its height - can be put inside very easily.HUMAN FIT also thumbs up. It is comfortable for human carrying on front or back.I use it as a front carrier so I can see my cat very comfy.I am 5'4" but the straps are adjustable - fit me right out the box.Straps are padded and soft.I like the material of the backpack. Feels solid and love that it isn't cloth so if you get caught in the rain - no prob.Also the material seems to protect the cat more than a cloth bag.Zippers also very smooth and the right size for this type of item.CONs -First and foremost I had a very hard time with dome replacement as I shared. It shouldn't be that hard. :-) Could be user error but my neighbor figured it out but took him a few attempts as well. Worth it though.This is only a minor and how it could be improved. The zipper for the dome only unzips from the bottom, one way and only one zipper. Be better if you could open at any point.I use this as a front carrier, and would like have the ability to open slightly on the top to pet his head via tiny opening. This is NOT and shouldn't be a deal breaker. .You can put fingers thru air holds and pet through very sturdy side mesh (note cloth) so it isn't totally a lost cause.Sorry I didn't post pics of cat in it. Just back from vet and walk around apt. halls. It is in his happy place about to nap. At least you can see his size.DEFINITELY RECOMMEND. You will be quite please as will your beloved pet. I looked at probably every single cat backpack on Amazon, before settling on this one. The rest of them seemed too small for a full-grown cat. My cats are 10-12 lb. and in a pinch I think I could fit both of them in this carrier. It will be roomy for one of them at a time, which is exactly what I wanted. I ordered the large, grey leather-looking bubble backpack. I just got it and I am SUPER IMPRESSED with the quality. The "leather" feels like leather, it has a slight olive tinge to the grey compared with the pictures, but honestly, that could be my screen coloration. Otherwise it is exactly as described. It still think it's pretty. It has an overall feel of high quality. Smooth zippers, it seems sturdy and the stitching is neat. Lots of ventilation. The smell they warn about is not yucky, more like a slightly minty, plastic smell that I don't think will bother my cats that much. I would highly recommend this bag!
